What is Brushed DC Motor? Advantages and Disadvantages?
Brushed DC motor from SHENGPLUS, BDM Series are able to customize to meet your needs
- Operation principle and characteristics:
A brushed DC motor relies on current to flow through the brush and then rotate through the armature. The vertical magnetic field is generated by adding multiple sets of wire-bus windings to the rotor. Through brush and commuttor adjustment, the current flowing into the armature can be controlled to keep the rotor magnetic field in the direction perpendicular to the magnetic field.
- Advantages:
The advantage of the brushed DC motor is that it is relatively simple to control the speed. It only needs to control the voltage to control the common speed, and is not limited by the power frequency, and can be made into a high-speed motor.
- Disadvantages:
brushed DC motors are not suitable for operation in high temperature environments, and the brushes are required as components of the commutator in the motor. Therefore, it is necessary to clean up the dirt generated by the friction of the brush regularly. It will wear out after a period of time and must be replaced. In addition, The armature will also wear out.
